Beam Chemotherapy What Was The Worst Thing About Your Chemotherapy Treatments? The Puking, Fatigue, The Hospital Visit? What?

What was the worst thing about your chemotherapy treatments? The puking, fatigue, the hospital visit? What? - beam chemotherapy

He had a brain tumor astrocytoma grade 3 and underwent seven hours craniotomy with mapping engine at UCSF. I had external beam radiotherapy and BCNU six cycles of chemotherapy by Rounds1 IV-3 are not so bad. 4.6 outbreaks were horrible. I vomited, not dry, but threw the saliva and air, lots of sleep, ate everything I could stomach for an hour or two. Although drinking water after an infusion, I hung up. My teeth looked like hell, and I've got blisters on the edges and in my mouth.

But I survived and I am six years free of cancer.

Congratulations for six years. I hope to tell someday. I am alone in the tower 2, and I'm so tired I can barely get up a few days. I have a lot of injuries. Even in places that are not mentioned. It's terrible, but I did not have a daughter, 2 years and this kind of cancer, the more of me. I win. I promise! :)

Congratulations on your 6 years!
I am a breast cancer 3 years back 2x, in the back, 02 and 03 ..

My worst was mixed for the first time with 3 Chemos not remember the actual name, but he bears the nickname "Red Devils". It was almost comical in their size, hahahah.
It was really bad, had to work a few times for drugs to combat nausea. I'm sick, or unplug the unit. I was on the couch most of the following week. I could not do it "the smell of chicken and noodles. I need something cold to have to be injected with med. I had the banana ice cream and even today I can not bear.
I have nausea in the car, and counting. Oh, wonderful chemotherapy. I can live with later, some small but irritating effects.
2. My time was not very bad. I was tired but not sick.
Good luck to you
God Bless

Mine was quite bearable. Started for AC, mild fatigue (which could go to the gym the next day and make at least a little heart), but after the fourth treatment, do not leave the house for 8 days.

The first time I had to not vomit Kytril. But it is disgusting! Low energy levels, loss of appetite and nausea (which we do not do) to vomit.

I have this change gave me Zofran. I realized that once I'm going to vomit during the next 24 hours after treatment (and yes, the last time I sat and watched the West Wing with my father that night, do not waste my time on, we talk about shells) to oriental rugs.

But my energy level was much better, I could eat like a horse (like for breakfast the day after chemotherapy: 3 / 4 of a chicken and a big tomato and salad dressing). I had strange cravings come to think of: tomatoes had the whole time, and have to eat too much meat (which is strange because I amGetaria).

And another thing: every time my account would be reduced only after always fall a week later than it should be done, so they had to bring my salary for one week. And if they fall, my eyes were moist and everything that should not stop blowing my nose all day at least three days. But it was a good thing, because then the seeds are not able to give ..

Fatigue Taxotere I have not - I could not my normal workout at the gym, for example, four hours after completion of chemotherapy - but the T has me very uncomfortable acid. Besides, my face swelled up a little and I felt as if (a species of steroids, an anti-allergy).

Another thing that happened with both Adriamycin and Taxotere: a sort of strange taste in the mouth, occurring during the infusion, when I was still hiding something by hand - for example, have a lemon (for the Adriatic), or a sandwich ( Taxotere).

And of course it's hard to lose my hair was beautiful, I could almost sit on it.So what I did was a barber who cut it in advance and someone to make a wig for him, is on a hat and cane.

Then I went to the opera one night ... Note that I am over 6 feet high - if the woman behind me asks me if I could take my hat off because it blocks your view and I said "No, I can not, I bare down completely. .." It was so good to me after that!

This was only about 5 'event-free "for years ... Of course that does not mean that I have a boring life, it means that my adventures have been involved in things more fun:>

God is good and it has had me on everything - even the part before the surgery, a new tumor every 2 days in the lymph nodes near the tumor, and all I could do was wait two weeks after my surgery. He was there for me and I slept like a baby ...

Fatigue has been by far the worst.

Congratulations! I am two years, a survivor of testicular cancer. I had two cycles of chemotherapy (6 weeks). For me the fatigue is the worst. I take my medication for nausea actually worked, because when I became ill. In fact, increased, whereas I can to chemotherapy, there was fatigue so bad he could not save her.

I had Hodgkin's lymphoma. The worst part for me was the high-dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation. I was stuck in the hospital that made me extremely boring for a month. I had many side effects of chemotherapy for me (thank God I did 29 laps in 8 months, 14 of these high dose)

BCNU is a real B * tch, when administered by transfusion of high doses. You feel like it was a drunk the next day. I felt a cat.

I'm glad that you were diagnosed and underwent successful treatment - good for you!

I too am a survivor of 6 years. Does the Y2K was for us.

They talk much more difficult and terrible treatment than they think.

For me, the chemotherapy was terrible, and I felt very bad about it, but the psychological effects were worse.

Look in the mirror, no hair, and a woman that is so important, because his face was very pale and the veins black was a reminder that I was sick, even on days I felt great. Take only a major part of the identity of their day to day as a person and a patient who makes you weak in the thank you from cancer, drugs, help from others.

The funny thing is that I think you make a much stronger person to live, but people still think of themselves as somehow weak.

Better for you, my fellow survivors.

First, congratulations on your successful treatment.

I'm going with my mother.

The vomit. It was so emotionally drained, and tiredness was a close second
